Adrenaline Autosound in Clayton is an expert in blind spot detection systems for vehicles. In simple terms, these driver safety products are designed to alert you of someone in your actual blind spot when you are changing lanes. We all have driven up the road and started to change lanes, only to realize at the last second that a vehicle was in our blind spot. We may hear a horn honking or just see that car, truck or SUV out of the corner of our eye. Whatever the case may be, the results could have been deadly.
Our products are designed to help prevent this issue. We break them down into two distinctly different categories: cameras systems and sensor-based systems.
Sensor-based Blind Spot Detection
The first type of blind spot system is our sensor-based product. Our MECP Master Certified technicians will install a pair of radar-based sensors behind your rear bumper, completely hidden from view. In the front of the vehicle, we install a visual alert indicator on each side of the vehicle, in easy view of the driver. We also install a hidden speaker.
When you are driving up the road and someone comes up behind you on your left side, the left indicator will illuminate, alerting you of someone entering that particular blind spot. Should you decide to activate your left blinker, an audible alert sounds as a secondary warning that someone is in the left blind spot. The same thing happens if someone drives into your right blind spot. First, you get a visual warning and then an audible alert if you activate your right turn signal.
Camera-based Blind Spot System
The second type of blind spot system sold at Adrenaline Autosound is camera-based. Our technicians will place a camera strategically underneath each side view mirror that is aimed at your blind spot. Now, whenever you activate your left blinker, the left camera activates, showing you what is in the left-side blind spot. If you activate your right blinker, you get to see what is in your right blind spot.
Inside your vehicle, we have four different ways that we can display the image from your blind spot cameras.
Factory Screen Integration
If your car, truck or SUV came with a color screen in the dash, chances are we can integrate the blind spot cameras to show up right there, just like a factory system would operate.
Rear-view Mirror Option
Another popular option is for us to install a replacement rear view mirror that has an embedded LCD monitor. Under normal conditions, the mirror looks and operates like your factory mirror, but when you activate either of your turn signals, the monitor quickly comes to life and displays the image from the appropriate camera.
Replacement Stereo System
If you own an older vehicle that could use a modern technology update, a replacement radio might be the ticket for you. Your newer car may also benefit from this option if it lacks some features of the higher-end models. Now, the color display in your new radio will show the blind spot cameras and give you several upgrade options, such as CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS Navigation, a backup camera, SiriusXM, USB ports and Bluetooth.
Stand-alone Monitor
If you own a commercial vehicle, or if one of the three options above doesn’t work for you, a stand-alone screen is a solution. We have multiple screen sizes and will work with you to find the perfect size and mounting solution.
